FAQs

Do you require a deposit to book a session?

Lasting Details requires a non-refundable retainer to hold your session or wedding date on the calendar. The remaining balance is due according to what type of session you have booked. The only time a retainer fee is transferrable is if Lasting Details has to reschedule due to a personal issue or inclement weather. For weddings, there are payment plans available, so don't be afraid to ask.

Where will we take the photos?

I always offer my property to clients as an outdoor location for our session. I have property in Weimar, TX with lots of different places for photos. If you have family land, or a specific location in mind, we can certainly take photos there. Just be sure to leave me a note when booking that you would like to take photos at a location of your choosing, so I can calculate the mileage and travel fee.

How will I receive my images?

All portrait sessions include a link to your password-protected, online gallery of all edited, digital images. For weddings, in addition to the personal web gallery, you will also receive a USB drive containing all edited images from your wedding day. The USB will also include all other albums such as your engagement session, bridals and/or bridal boudoir portraits. I strive to deliver no less than 50 images per hour of shooting time for all weddings. This number will vary based on whether my second shooter is hired.

How long does it take to get my pictures after our session?

This is probably the most important question for photographers! For portrait sessions, I advertise a turn around time of 7-10 days. It's generally more like 3-4 days, but please remember I do have a full-time 9-5'er and a family that has to eat most nights.... LOL

For weddings, on average, I shoot 2500+ images throughout the day. Once I cull thru all the images, I am left with those that I deem worthy of my creative, hand edit. During busy season, this process can take up to 12 weeks. I know that seems like an awfully long time, but not to worry - I always send a sneak peek from your wedding within 72 hours for you to love and share.

Can you make me skinny?

Please remember that I am a natural light and lifestyle photographer. I only utilize photoshop to remove distractions from backgrounds or to add artistic flares. I am unable to alter a person's physical appearance with the exception of minor blemishes or visible 'ouchies' on your littles. Thank you for your understanding and patience.

Can I share my photos with whoever I want?

Of course! Please keep in mind, the copyright belongs to Lasting Details by Lauren. However, once your gallery is delivered, it will include an electronic print release that allows you to print all photos delivered to you. If your venue, hair dresser, makeup artist or any local newspaper or magazine wishes to share an image, Lasting Details requires the ad to be ran by Lauren to make sure proper credentials are used. Please note that the contract you sign upon booking your session states that your photos may be used as advertising on any of the Lasting Details social media platforms.

Do you have a studio?

Sort of - I have a small office studio at my house that is used for studio newborns. Lifestyle newborns are typically done in your home and are mostly candid. I do have a handful of baskets, buckets and props for use during a newborn session. However, I am *not* an Anne Geddes newborn style photographer. I don't do the posey-posed newborn photos, but can recommend some amazing gals who do. I also have access to several private and public locations for indoor sessions, like boudoir sessions.

What should I bring to my senior session?

I have several chairs as well as a cowhide and blankets we can use for your session. I encourage my graduates to bring any memorabilia to use for senior sessions. Jackets, rings, cap/gown, balls, sports uniforms/medals/trophies, instruments, books, horses, show animals, family pets, etc. Anything that means something to you now and that you want to remember years from now is welcome!

When should I schedule my maternity and newborn sessions?

I recommend scheduling your maternity session anywhere between 30 and 35 weeks. It all depends on my momma-to-be, how you're feeling/showing and doctor's orders.

As for newborns, I generally like to do these 7-10 days after birth, but they can be done later than that too. Just keep in mind that the older the babies are, the more mobile and sporadic their movements become; so keeping them swaddled up tight becomes more challenging. I typically schedule the newborn sessions for your due date, and then we can adjust this once you actually deliver. If your due date is not available on my booking website, just shoot me a message and I can send you a direct link to reserve the session.
